usually around 11:00 at night, i like to scope which musical acts are playing on the late night talk shows. honestly, letterman has the best acts. they’re usually more indie than leno. i should also mention that leno is a huge douche bag, but that’s a post for another day.

anyway, the smashing pumpkins played tonight on letterman. i watched them with some interest because i’m hoping to shoot them when they roll into the dodge theatre in september. the first thing i noticed was that billy corgan is the only original member in the band, so, quick, to the interweb!

i found their wikipedia entry to see exactly who are the new members. none of the names really caught my eye except for ginger reyes:

i saw she used to perform under the moniker of “ginger sling.” i met her at the 2006 tempe music fest. she was super cool, and we chatted for a bit. she even gave a copies of her two EPs.

i was hoping that she would be playing at the 2007 fest, but i guess she was too busy practicing with corgan and the other pumpkins. good to see she’s doing really well for herself.
