one of my few fantasies were fulfilled last friday when i got to head out to marquee theatre and shoot the rollins band.

henry rollins is just the man. i’ve always admired and even attended a couple of his speaking shows. this was my first rollins music show. this guy is all about the show. he just doesn’t stop. it was the fastest hour and a half ever i’ve experienced at a concert. this was almost one of my best concert shoots to date.

good ol’ hank even wrote some kind words about the show on his web site:

#241. 09-01-06 Tempe AZ: 2312 hrs. What a great crowd. They were into it. We headlined so we got to play a longer set which felt great. We played Shame for the first time on the tour and it sounded really good. Hopefully we’ll play it again tomorrow night in LA. Today’s heat was extraordinary. Easily over 100 degrees. Even after the show it was still hot. I met some people after the show out in the parking lot, they were cool. I also met up with a soldier who drove Road Manager Mike and I past a check point in Egypt last year and he told me it was blown up weeks after we were there. Onto LA.

you rock on, hank. here are the photos.
