having successfully found my way back to wallingford (i missed my bus stop), i have now ventured across the i-5 and into the u-district. the u-district is what mill avenue could be if it wasn’t so corporate (border’s, [i won’t mention starbuck’s considering my location], urban outfitter’s, pf chang’s, and the such). there’s a record store on every corner and across the street from a bar.

i have ventured down university way and came across rudy’s barber shop. this is place is very punk rawk. poster ranging from johnny cash to beavis and butthead to concert posters for local acts are plastered all over the wall in front of the chairs. the barbers tonight are a couple of chicks that look like they’d kick your ass in the roller derby rink then style your hair because they felt bad for you.

when i got in, there was an hour wait to see one of these girls. asking the guy sitting next to me, he said this was the place to go to get a hairy.

to give you a little background: i drastically cut my hair in well over a year. if i pull one of my bangs down (did i just say “bangs”?), it’ll reach just below my nose. to say the least, this is going to be really hard on me. even though my hair has become completely unmanageable (did i just say “unmanageable”?), i feel it has been with me for so long that i don’t even know what i’ll look like without it.

as i’m writing this, i was informed by a friend of mine that there’s a little competition going on at work to see who has the longest hair amongst the dudes. yeah, we look for the cheap thrills.

anyway, this decision will be rash and will probably on the spot once i get into the chair. if i had a camera, i’d post before-and-after shots. luckily i forgot it.
