kickin’ back with a latte at local color: art, coffee, more… which is right across the street from the pike market place.
initially, i couldn’t get access to their wireless network, but i moved closer to the windows and found access to the city wide wifi. the access is weak, but at least i can hit it.
anyway, the coffee at local color is not too bad, but let’s be honest, you come here for the art and atmosphere. right outside the door on the street corner is a duo playing their hearts out. one guy is rockin’ the guitar while the other… an accordian! that’s just sweet!
on the walls of local color are custom pieces of art. mainly looks like acrylic on canvas by kristin alyea. all paintings of flowers. not really my cup of tea (or should it be joe), but they look really nice.
looking outside, the park place market is rocking and rolling. i could get into something like the ppm. it seems to have everything you could ever want without having to hit the local grocer. my only problem is that stuff is just a bit expensive. i guess you pay for freshness.
i’m getting kinda sick of coffee. i need to find a bar with free wifi now. i might head up to the u-district. college kids love beer and wifi.
